Session 1 | General | 36 Campers
QUICK THOUGHTS:
Day One: Coach Mason is an awesome DUNKER on the 8-foot rim ... we have four kids by the name of Max ... Huge welcome to Coach Brien, Coach Matt, and Coach Anna ... Coach Brien has a beard and wants the Spurs to win the NBA title ... Coach Anna went to Buzzardball and is now a junior at Christian Brothers High School playing for the varsity basketball team ... I didn't see one Kendama today (that could change) ... Buzzardball 2K13 featured a brand new intro (that's right, we got rid of 20th Century Fox and We Will Rock You) ... Nick Smolich is in camp this week ... So is Max Weitzman ... Max Dunn, Vincent DiFiore, and Logan Wheeler all dunked the ball today (that's a record) ... Most popular shirt of the four was definitely blue ... Did you know that this year's theme was inspired by the Seattle Seahawks ... did you know that the Southern California Edition of Buzzardball, better known as CAMP OLSON, kicked off today as well!
Day Two: Tried a new system for Photo Day and it worked ... Special Guest Appearance by Coach Harrison ... practiced for our first videotaping of the Harlem Shake ... Gatorade Giveaway was huge because we had Charlie get the number right on the nose and then there was 8th Grader Logan who won for the first time in his long Buzzardball career ... kids received official Buzzardball cinch sacks (brought back after a year hiatus) ... working hard on finalizing the ALL-STAR THURSDAY/FRIDAY teams ... posting the teams on the website this evening
Day Three: Today was highlighted by some awesome NBA jerseys, great props for our Harlem Shake video, and the formal announcement of our ALL-STAR THURSDAY and FRIDAY teams ... Some of the jerseys featured today included: Blake Griffin, Derrick Rose, Russell Westbrook, Jimmer Fredette, LeBron James, Doug Christie, Mike Bibby, Rajon Rondo, Mitch Richmond, Dell Curry, Kevin Martin, and Giacomo sported a Cal basketball jersey ... My favorite props for the Harlem Shake video were 1. The Peyton Manning Mask 2. Inflatable crown from Chuck E. Cheese, and the Wheeler's family dog ... that's not even scratching the surface ... the day was full of activity ... the BOBCATS won the LAY-UP competiton while the CELTICS won the OUTSIDE SHOOTING competition ... ICEE's for Big Break was pretty popular ... can't wait for All-Star Thursday!
