HIGHLIGHT: Game #2 in which the MAGIC scored the final five points including a game-winning layup by Dean Snow to lift the MAGIC to a 32-31 win over the THUNDER.
KUDOS: To the Thunder who had to play four straight games today with two wins against the SIXERS and a pair of losses against the MAGIC.
MONDAY: Smallest group of the summer, but could end up being the most fun ... We have four Pre-K, four Kindergarteners, three 2nd Graders, a 3rd Grader, and a whopping nine 1st Graders ... We did a lot today focused around dribbling ... Once we got that down, we worked on some shooting and some actual basketball situations ... I found out that Caleb and Josh really like Justin Bieber ... Kids got to meet their coaches including Zach, Nick, and Max (Toph will be in attendance on Tuesday) ... We played Noodle Monster Tag and Sharks and Minnows ... Don't forget that Tuesday is PHOTO DAY!
TUESDAY: Great second day and more basketball fun ... Campers were great with PHOTO DAY (see below) ... Introduction to real basketball using Buzzardball rules (matching up ... no stealing the dribble ... allowing everyone to shoot the basketball ... no backcourt defense) ... We had four teams today that scrimmaged against each other ... Each team got to play against the coaches.
WEDNESDAY: All-Star Thursday/Friday teams are formerly announced ... MAGIC had a great day by kicking things off with winning the LAY-UP competition ... the campers were able to sign up for different events ... played a lot of team activities including BIG BALL SOCCER, NOODLE MONSTER TAG, and some DANCE OFFS ... we finished the day with ALL-STAR FRIDAY scrimmages.
