DECEMBER 30TH, 2008: STAS SWIM TEAM HOLIDAY PARTY -- YEAR TWO : CRAWFORD BARN (Sacramento, CA): It was deja vu as I got the invite to come on and out and help entertain the STAS Swim Team's Holiday Party. And as expected, there were no disappointments. We did it in 2007 and the STAS Swim Team gets full representation for the final BUZZARDBALL event of 2008 (No New Year's Eve parties this year). Three hours went by fast as the energy was great from start to finish. My hats off to the kids who had no problem staying on the dance floor from 7 to 10. Congratulations on a great swim season and best of luck to everyone in 2009. Enjoy the photos!

DECEMBER 30TH, 2008: LAGUNA CREEK HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS ACADEMY P.E. DAY : LAGUNA CREEK HIGH SCHOOL (Elk Grove, CA): I really wish I could have taken more photos for this event. I don't get an opportunity to do many high school events, so I was excited for this challenge where members of the Laguna Creek High School Sports Academy got together to simply let off some steam. I went into P.E. teacher mode and we spent three hours playing games. It started with DODGEBALL and was followed by FLOOR HOCKEY, ARENA FOOTBALL, STEAL THE GOLD, and an incredible game of SLAP SOCCER. My favorite part, though, was being able to dance for the final 30 minutes doing some of my favorites including CRANK THAT, CHICKEN DANCE, CUPID SHUFFLE, YMCA, HOKEY POKEY, and PEANUT-BUTTER JELLY TIME. I had a lot of fun and again ... the pictures don't do this event justice for how much fun we had. But I had to have representation. Thank you and God Bless everyone as 2009 fast approaches us.

DECEMBER 14TH, 2008: JAYME & COLLEEN'S 13TH BIRTHDAY : It was time to celebrate the 13th birthday of Colleen and Jayme at Park Terrace Swim Club. How about this? A 4-hour party on a Sunday night. Lots of friends. And throw in some karaoke as well. The combination equaled a GREAT party! There were definitely some highlights with Princess Nina kicking the karaoke portion of the program off with 'Don't Cha' by the Pussycat Dolls. And then throughout the night it was music, karaoke, music, karaoke, you name it. There were some good singers and there were others, well ... let's just say they gave it their best shot. Overall, it was a lot of fun and what a great way to go into the final week of school before the Christmas break. Enjoy the photos everyone!

NOVEMBER 14TH: NATALIE'S 14TH BIRTHDAY : It was a perfect setting in the DOWD party room as 60-70 of Natalie's friends joined up to celebrate Nat's 14th birthday. Everyone had a great time. Major kudos to Kaitlyn Kozens who took 3/4 of the pictures you see in the gallery. I initially thought that Natalie owned the new record for photos, but that record still belongs to Mitchell Rosenberg. Anyways, this was a great party. Enjoy the photos.

NOVEMBER 7TH, 2008: MADDY'S 13TH BIRTHDAY : It was out to Park Terrace Tennis and Swim Club to celebrate Maddy's 13th birthday. The cool thing about this party is that I didn't have to talk much. Those in attendance just wanted to dance, so that's what we did for three hours. And before you know it, it was over. I hope everyone had a good time. Kudos to Naomi Holland just because. A big hello to Isabel Meshot, who I just did a party for at PT a few months ago, but had forgotten my camera. Enjoy the photos!

OCTOBER 30TH, 2008: SIERRA OAKS MONSTER MASH DANCE : Sierra Oaks celebrated HALLOWEEN with a MONSTER MASH dance. That meant everyone arrived in costume and the middle schoolers (7th and 8th grade) even invited the 6th graders to be a part of the festivities. It took about 45 minutes for everyone to get warmed up, but once we kicked out the CHA-CHA SLIDE, it was pure energy from there on out. The kids did an incredible job of singing as loud as I have ever heard a group sing some of the TOP 40 songs. We did the Chicken Dance for Noah and Jailhouse Rock for Abby (or Abbey). Overall, this group was solid. I always love coming to Sierra Oaks to have some fun with the kids. A reminder kids ... if you still want to sign up for JR-NBA/WNBA, just shoot me an e-mail or go to buzzardball.org to downolad a reg form. Sorry, had to get that in with the deadline coming on Wednesday. Happy Halloween everyone!

OCTOBER 17TH, 2008: ST. ALBANS/ST. MICHAEL'S DANCE : I admit that I was feeling pretty tired coming into this dance, but I must give big KUDOS to the 7th and 8th graders of St. Albans and St. Michael's for turning my frown upside down. I've done a lot of these kind of dances and I have to say ... this one was a 10 on a 10 scale. It took awhile to get things going, but it was only a matter of time until everyone was in the groove and were on the dance floor song after song. We missed not having St. Ignatius in the mix, but we'll make sure to raise the bar to even a higher level when we hook up again at St. Michael's in March. Thank you and enjoy the photos!

OCTOBER 12TH, 2008: 1ST ANNUAL VEGGIE CHASE 5K & KID'S RUN : Over 1200 people, including over 1000 kids, participated in the 1st Annual Veggie Chase at Hagan Community Park in Rancho Cordova. It was one incredible event that featured a 5K (3.13 miles for those of you checking), a one-mile run, and then a series of KID RUNS that featured our youngsters. My favorite had to be the DIAPER DASHERS for ages 2 and under. I haven't done a BIG event like this and I have to say ... it was a BLAST! It gave the YMCA and the CHICKEN DANCE a whole new meaning and took it to another level. There were plenty of prizes, awards, and great food that helped this VEGGIE CHASE a huge success. Congratulations to Tim Coughlin and his staff of volunteers for putting on a great event. Enjoy the photos!

OCTOBER 10TH, 2008: SARAH'S 14TH BIRTHDAY : Give it up for Sarah. 14 years old and there is no better way to celebrate than to have a DANCE PARTY. It may have been a little brisk in the air, but that didn't stop 'the gang' from coming on out to have three hours of dancing fun. Prepare yourself as the first 20 pictures or so are combinations of Sarah, Mimi, Payton, Golara, and Seattle. We had a great time. The singing of a few select songs were very "American Idol" and the dance off between Maddie and Scotty was one to remember. Enjoy the photos and have a great weekend!

OCTOBER 5TH, 2008: SIERRA OAKS MOTHER-SON P.E. EVENT : We couldn't have asked for a better day to host such a fun event. It was the annual get together of mothers and their sons as we worked it out with Coach Buzzard. We had an early visit from former Assemblyman Lloyd Connelly to let us know that we needed a sound permit, but once Kathleen Dellisant worked her magic, we were off and running. Admittedly anyone within a mile radius probably heard us, but we had a great time. After a solid pre-game workout, we had a RO-SHAM-BO contest that had Jake Sandman take the overall championship in 2008. That was followed by kickball and an attempt at dodgeball. In between, we hit all the dances, including the moms perfect the 'Soulja Boy' dance. That is crucial in our attempt as parents to be cool. Oh yeah ... we jumped rope too. As usual, the time went by fast. There was pizza waiting for us at the end as we put the event in the books. My thanks to Kathleen and her crew for getting this altogether for what has become an annual tradition. And just so you know how popular you are. I just received an e-mail today from Cowan Elementary who had heard about your event and they want to do the same thing. So Congrats on that. Have a great week!

OCTOBER 5TH, 2008: ALLEN'S 50TH BIRTHDAY : What a fun party! What a perfect night to celebrate Allen's 50th birthday. Accompanied by family and friends, the weather held up nicely as everyone was treated to a great evening in Sacramento. The highlight of the evening had to be the arrival of Dean Martin. That's right. Allen is a big Dean and Frank fan and so wife Susan had an impersonator show up and Dean was in rare form during his 45-minute number. That was fun. The rest of the night was accompanied by great Mexican food, plenty of music, and a whole lot of fun. It was my first time meeting the family and there is no doubt they know how to throw a 'fun' party.

OCTOBER 5TH, 2008: MARTIN 13TH ANNUAL SAUSAGE AND BEERFEST : The annual tradition continues. I am fortunate to say that this is my second year getting to attend this event. Josh and Cindy make it real simple. Families come bearing different selections of sausage and beer. And the kids (a lot of them) get to enjoy the backyard as well as some fun music by Mr. Buzzard. It's a great combination of food, relaxation, and social time for everyone. We even celebrated birthdays (Jane) and a 15-year anniversary (the Kaplons) and were treated to the pleasant singing of young Emma. As always, the event was a big hit and according to Josh, there are certainly more years to come. Enjoy the photos!

SEPTEMBER 26TH, 2008: NEEK & AARON'S 13TH BIRTHDAY : First thing Neek and Aaron are going to do is look at the number 121 and say "What happened?" Photographer Emily gave it a go, but only 121 made the cut. Plus Mitchell paid a lot of money to sabotage the assignment. Anyways, let's get to the nuts and bolts of what was Neek and Aaron's 13th birthday bash at the Dezaki house. Everyone was asked to dress in black, but 75 minutes into the party, the boys changed it up, by going neon and coming out to LET IT RAIN. It was a nice touch to say the least. Arden was well represented at this party and for three hours, the kids tore up the dance floor. Again, kudos to Emily (not Erica) for doing a standout job on taking photos. So Neek and Aaron: do realize that 121 isn't bad and Mitchell will always be your friend. At least, that's what he told me. Have a great weekend and enjoy the photos! This party was definitely Neek and Aaron and flavor. Or is that Aaron and Neek flavor?

The girls represented well while it was Preston, Sean, and young Brandon representing the guy's side. I had fun just watching Marcela do her Sosa thing the entire party. It was relaxing and kick back and we all had a good time listening and dancing to some fun music. Oh yeah ... kudos to Abbey and her 'blue' wig and her ape-like behavior. Great energy and a great group of kids who truly come to enjoy two hours of dancing. Even though we couldn't go 100% hip-hop or turn it into a metal show, we were able to hit different types of music in our allotted 120 minutes. We had dance battles and before you know it, our time was up. That's all right, though, because we will do it again on December 4th. MICHAEL'S COMING TOGETHER TO CELEBRATE CHAD: Those are the headlines from the celebration of CHAD's 14th birthday. Chad was a former student at St. Michael's and now attends Arcade, so there were plenty of people at this bash. AUGUST 23RD, 2008: PAYTON'S 13TH (WATER) BIRTHDAY : It was my 5th event in three days and Payton was going to make sure that I went out with a bang. A lot of highlights from Payton's 13th birthday. Water became the main attraction around 9:20 p.m. with Payton being the main culprit. Here were two conversations that took place. (MR. BUZZARD): 'Why did you start a water fight?' (PAYTON): "Because it's fun!" ... Later on, the same question was asked by Mr. Ksidakis. (MR. KSIDAKIS): "Why did you start that water fight?" (PAYTON): "Dad, I'm 13 now." Definitely the line of the night. Other highlights included the singing duo of Frankie and Darci (look for their picture), the group performance on "Don't Stop Believin'," Eric Pye's sweet 'fro (and broken foot), big brother Parker being the 'life of the party,' Lisa (don't call me Mrs. Ksidakis) enjoying her favorite song (and now mine, too) 'Paper Planes,' and oh yeah ... the water fight that consumed the final 40 minutes of the party. Payton, you did it! Great party and I know I had a great time. 80+ pictures is not too bad, so although it wasn't a BUZZARDBALL record, at least you can enjoy the #2 spot. AUGUST 22ND, 2008: ST. IGNATIUS FATHER-DAUGHTER DANCE : A proud tradition has been started at the Saca home. For the second straight year, dads and their daughters from St. Ignatius gathered together to kick off the school year with a bang. The dads and daughters did not disappoint as two hours went by way too quickly. I don't know if the girls were just happy to get through the first week of school, but the energy was high amongst all of those in attendance from Kindergarten up to 8th grade. We had a great time and my favorite part was watching my box of BUZZARDBALL t-shirts that I had left over from the summer disappear like tickets to a sold-out Jonas Brothers concert. I didn't get the whole story on how Madeline was kept at bay, but Maia and everyone else involved did a good job of surprising Madeline with a dance party. Friends from Sutter and Sac Country Day gathered together to chat about what's left of the summer, dance, and eat some good snack food. Madeline definitely likes her hip-hop and I got to see her open one of her presents ... a Heath Ledger Joker poster. Boys beat out the girls by a smidge. There was the basketball game in which the boys came out victorious over the boys, 20-4. And the host Jake Randle won the Ultimate Knockout Championship. Golara even had a cake for Mr. Buzzard, which was awesome! Thanks for a great night everyone and enjoy the photos!

MARCH 15TH, 2008: SACRAMENTO COUNTRY DAY FATHER-DAUGHTER DANCE : It's hard to believe that this is the fourth year that I have been the DJ for this great Father-Daughter event. This year's theme was all about a black & white affair. As always it was fun as the dad's got a dose of their daughter's musical tastes and vice versa. Highlight of the night had to be doing the 'SOULJA BOY' dance. Thank you for allowing me to come again and host the event. It's always a lot of fun. Enjoy the photos.

FEBRUARY 29TH, 2008: FRANKLIN ELEMENTARY FATHER-DAUGHTER DANCE : This was my second year going to Loomis to DJ the Father-Daughter Dance. And I have to say that the Dads and their daughters outdid themselves from 2007. We had a great time and it seemed like two hours flew by rather quickly. My thanks to Franklin for having me again. Hopefully we have started a wonderful tradition.

FEBRUARY 9TH, 2008: O.L.A. 1ST ANNUAL FATHER-DAUGHTER DANCE : Father-Daughter dances are pretty popular around the local schools. That's why I was surprised when I found out that this was the first go-around for the great people at O.L.A. But here's the deal ... this was a great way to kick off what should be an annual tradition. The energy was great. The daughters were ready to have fun, but it was the dads who stepped up to the plate. The photos don't do this party justice. I wanted to commend everyone for a job well done. I had a great time!

JANUARY 25TH, 2008: P.J., DRAKE, & MIKE TURN 18 : Welcome to the HOT BOX. This party was sweatin' as we Rap and Hip-Hopped for a solid three hours. These pictures are caught at the beginning of the dance when people weren't drenched yet. I didn't want to make anyone look bad. Props to Rio. It was fun. A word to the basketball team ... beat BV, beat El Camino and then go win a city title. '08 is the year. Thanks everyone!

JANUARY18TH, 2008: EVAN'S 13TH BIRTHDAY : It was like deja vu. Just a little over a year ago, we were celebrating older sister Lindsay's birthday. Now it was Evan turning 13 with all his friends. The Glass family has always been a big supporter of Buzzardball, so it was great to be part of Evan's special day as he celebrated his entry into teenage years. The dancing was fun and there are a lot of pictures. So enjoy!
